Photographs could epitomes of memories.
another story i wrote (:

By the flash of time, the universal clock seems to tick our lives away. "Life just seems to fade away...” a phrase perpetually kept at her mouth; a phrase well-said and well kept. Memories were really an aspect that Duff was deprived of, especially the happy ones. The only impressions he had was scenes of his mother weeping through the nights. At times he figured he was disillusion; dangling on the borders of lunacy.

'Tick, Tock', Duff awoke to the usual monotony of his room. The only significant items that broke the almost empty front of his room were his shelves of second hand books and faded photo frames. The wall was painted unevenly with dull shades of grey, somehow paint his life too. Actually, his apartment could be summarized with grey. The grey faded photographs, never failed to sink him into the deepest depths of his thoughts. Sadly, he always ended this flash back session by slamming the photo frames down.

Duff continued with the inevitable daily routine, strolling down the road to his college. Duff was sick of the anger and resentment cloaked in the impatient footsteps and car horns. He plugged his senses into his discman, isolating himself in his own thoughts.

Entering the college, Duff met up with his only remaining love. Helena was a almost exact duplicate of Duff in terms of background and plight. Both orphans and introverted, they could always fairly emphatize with one another. This sense of empathy gradually sparked off the abstract and simple chemistry between the. They proceeded with their college routine. Just as they were about to leave to study for the term papers, they bumped into My Brightley. He kindly offered them a ride home.

Almost just seconds after Helena alighted, Mr. Brightley started his sudden counseling session with Duff. He too had detected that fearsome aura the repelled company. Bearing purely good intentions, Duff was not irritated, but somewhat indifferent. Duff had long severed himself form the formalities and atrocities of the world. He was somehow able to sense anger between each line everyone spoke. However, Mr. Brightley was somewhat different. He gave Duff a real comforting feeling. A phrase suddenly hit Duff right in the nerve, “Memories are always there, so is love"

Duff alighted with the phrase resounding in his head. It was so familiar yet somewhat distinct. He entered his apartment contemplating on the phrase, and this led his attention to the photo frames. The photographs seemed to paint the dullness of his life. Looking at the photographs only led to a dismal sense of not fulfilling.

"Bang!” Duff slammed the photo frames shut. "They’re gone for good!” this thought snapped into Duff's head, stirring up all the emotions that had been numbed since his childhood. He burst into a stated of tears.

At this moment, His phone rang. "Duff... Hilary has been involved in a fatal accident while crossing the road to her house!" Duff dropped his phone on a floor. A deadly silence filled the house instantly. No tear was shed. Duff had just given up all his hope on life. He went to the kitchen to on the cooking gas. Slitting his wrists, he cut off all remaining hopes he beared. He wanted to destroy all his memories with him. His vision gradually blurred. "Tick, tock, life just seems to fade away..." the photo frame suddenly dropped on the floor, drawing the attention of Duff. He spent all his remaining energy focusing on the photograph. For a once in a lifetime, he noticed the smile on his parents face while holding him. Duff immediately opened his wallet to catch a last glimpse of Hilary. Duff smiled.

"Flash," he recalled a scene of him playing catch with his father before the fatal accident.
"Flash," Duff's mother is holding in her arms and teasing him.
"Flash," Duff has his first kiss.

He picked up the camera on the shelf. Duff made the most sincere smile he had ever made.
"Don't worry, I will be with you soon."
"Flash." He captured his last moments. His photo album was concluded. It was where all his memory always were.

"Boom.", the ignition of the camera trigger off an explosion with the gas. Duff took his memories all with him.

cheers-
